Federal Issue: University and Non-profit Competition
Share |

University and Non-profit Competition

MAPPS supports education programs to attract and prepare students for professional careers. The association supports laboratory work to expose students to practical application of the theory and classroom education they receive. We support work-study programs and internships. And we support legitimate research by universities. However, when a college/university engages in offering and performing services that are commercially available from private, for-profit firms, the university is in unfair competition with the private sector.

University and Non-profit Competition Committee

Government & University Competition Committee shall monitor activities by federal, state and local government agencies, as well as universities, wherein such entities perform activities that are commercial in nature and unfairly compete with the private sector.
